Week 8

For week 8, I chose to focus more on my macros. I very much enjoyed taking pictures of the flowers in my garden, and enjoyed getting close to the blooms. Unfortunately, the rest of the photos were deleted due to a damaged memory card, so I will upload fresh ones first thing in the morning.

Portraits

Here are some portrait photos of Brooklynn.  I added several variations for some of the photos.  I played around in photoshop with different effects, and I was happy with these few pictures for the most part!

I have been on vacation for a week so my latest posted have been delayed. For these seven pictures I decided to keep my them of geometric shapes consistent with my previous work. My primary focus was to observe the way light bends around and affects geometric shapes.

Week 7: Santorini, Greece

I decided to focus on Santorini, Greece because my girlfriend wants to go there and I thought this would be a cheap way to travel from the comfort of home.  I had to crop some of the images so that the banners and side slideshow pictures wouldn't show up on the pictures.  I also photoshopped them for better image quality.

week 8

I decided to pick more macro shots for week 8. After I figured out how to actually take macro shots I ended up having a lot of fun with them. This time around with macro I tried to get shots that had water in them.

Backyard fun

Here are a few shots I got of my daughter playing in the backyard last night....I'm starting to get the hang of this manual thing, and I admit I am kind of liking it!  It has been over a month since I last used my Nikon in automatic mode!!!

Week 7

For my photos for week 7, I chose to go into the more congested part of downtown Cumberland. While the architecture wasn't as I exciting or as bright as I was hoping for, but I liked the view of the street as the sun was going down. I also liked the upward view of St. Joseph's Church.

Week 6

For week 6, I chose to take portraits of my younger brother, Chris.  He did a great job, and we got some great honest expressions. I tried to keep him slightly off focus, but even if that failed, I very much liked these portraits best.
