Week #4: Shadow and Light
I have chosen these four photos out of the 7-8 that I took that consisted of shadows and light. I realize these are a week late, but I wanted to upload them as soon as I was able. I chose these four photos because I felt the use of light and shadow was equal and I found that, particularly with the last one, the zoom only made the light and shadow stand out even more so.
First time shooting in manual mode
So over the last week and a half I have been watching tutorials and reading up on how to step out of my comfort zone and shoot in manual mode. It's been pretty difficult to get used to, but fun none the less. I'm excited to keep practicing!!!
Here are some of my favorite shots....
In the last picture, I must have had a water smudge on my lens that I missed...is there any way I can correct it in photoshop?

Great Quote
Just came across this wonderful quote from George Eastman, the founder of Eastman Kodak.....
” Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.” – George Eastman -

Week Three: By the Sea
Here are some pics I took in Stratford. I tried to use the setting sun with the water and different size rocks from different angles. The weather was not on my side and Short Beach was not very photogenic this weekend!
Week #3: The Sea
Because I am nowhere near the ocean, I chose the Blackstone river on the line of Cumberland and Lincoln, RI to take photographs. I personally loved getting in the water and getting up close to the waters powerful movement, as well as the abundance of nature in and around it. I also loved the natural lighting that was available to me, despite it being a cloudy day. I chose these because I believed they were the best examples of lighting and moving water.
