This week is all about getting everything working and posting an inventive self-portrait to the blog, setting up your fotothing account, installing Photoshop and getting comfortable with the whole process.
Next week, I want you to use the built environment as a springboard for dynamic compositions of light and structure. (One important tip, avoid including the sky in your shots) Move in, fill the frame. Think abstractly, look closely. Squint at the subject ..... does it come forward because it is well lit or does it recede into the shadows because you didn't perceive how light and focal point should come together?
This shot illustrates what I am talking about perfectly....

Click on image to see it larger, then click the "x" in the upper right side
to return to the blog. See more result of a search for "urban"
You need to schedule time to "GO SHOOTING" That means walking around with your camera with the specific intent of finding intriguing pictures. It may be an hour or so of time... Shoot 30-50 shots... then edit them down to your best 6-10 for the week... put your best 2 on the blog and the rest in your fotothing portfolio....
