Clarification of grading policy

Because this class happens at a rapid pace, missing one week of class is like missing 2 weeks during a regular semester session.  The class builds sequentially.  As  you may know, classes in the ADP program are subject to a strict attendance policy.  Evening division students are withdrawn from the class administratively (by the ADP office, not me) after 4 absences.  There are two attendance records taken each week.  I take the attendance on Monday morning for the previous week as this is an asynchronous class.  Day students are subject to the same withdrawal review by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

I use the rubric (grading policy) form, linked in the upper right hand side of the blog.  I will also issue a grade for the previous week's work on a weekly basis and will send that to you each Monday as well.  I will drop the lowest grade earned for a week at the end of the term.  Not showing up in a given week earns an automatic F.

Please refer to "Academic Expectations" section of the syllabus for a more detailed explanation of my grading policy.
